Growing in Unity 2023 - Day 3

It's always a good day to have a good day, however, sometimes there are bumps in the path. Today's featured Unity Stamp Company cards are meant to be sent to people when they need to know someone is thinking about them.

Made using the stamp “Newsprint Floral Greetings

The Unity Stamp Company stamps that I used for this first card were "Newsprint Floral Greetings" paired with a "With Sympathy" stamp from a grab bag of stamps for the inside sentiment.

To make this card, I stamped it with archival ink onto a Kraft card base and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then, I used watercolor to fill in the floral areas. I love using the Distress Watercolor Pencils by Tim Holtz and Ranger. It is finished with the sentiment in black and clear embossing on the inside (not pictured).

Made using the stamp “Wild and Free

For my second featured card, I used the "Wild and Free" stamp by Donna Downey, paired with a "Thinking of You" sentiment that also came in a grab bag.

This Donna Downey stamp turned out better than I imagined! I stamped it directly onto a pre-made card base and heat embossed it with distress glaze powder. Then I used watercolor to fill in the petals until they were the perfect shade.

I rummaged for a bit to put the sentiment on, which is stamped on velum and then embossed. I also added a metallic string for a bit of dimension. I love using thread to give my cards a little something extra!

I finished this card by using silver liquid watercolor to add some extra pops of color. For the corners, I used the ink blower tool from Ranger to blow the ink around as it dried.

I hope I have inspired you to get inky today and make something to brighten someone else's day! Until next time - stay happy!
